Cahaba quickly outgrew our first location in Birmingham’s Pepper Place/Lakeview district. A few years later, in January 2016, we moved our 3-barrel homebrew project to East Avondale and upgraded to a 30-barrel brewhouse.
Cahaba is currently located in a 51,000-square-foot building in the Historical Continental Gin Complex. With over 26 taps, our Taproom has awesome Cahaba staples like Blonde, Oka Uba, Pale Ale, and Lager while also sporting various Taproom-only releases.
I would like to invite you to join us in our Taproom or from a distance with any one of our canned offerings. We are proud to be distributed throughout Alabama, including Greater Birmingham, North Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Mobile, and Gulf Shores.
-Eric Meyer, Brewmaster and Co-Founder of Cahaba Brewing Co.
Cahaba’s Production facility consists of three 60 barrel fermenter tanks, three 120 barrel fermenter tanks, and two brite tanks (one 60 barrel and the other 120 barrel). Cahaba continues to use the same, reliable 3.5 barrel system from 2011 for experimental brews while other beers are brewed with a 30 barrel Sprinkman system.
To package on-site, Cahaba has a Wild Goose canning line. All of Cahaba’s products are brewed and packaged at Cahaba Brewing Company in Birmingham, Alabama, including Blonde, Oka Uba IPA, Pale Ale, Lager, DD’s Cherry Hibiscus Sour, and more.
The Cahaba River is the longest free-flowing body of water in the state of Alabama. In Birmingham’s backyard exists this wildlife so diverse that many elements remain unknown outside of the area. Cahaba Brewing Company, just like our namesake, is rooted in that unique taste of life only found here – a diverse yet humble, free-flowing, wild adventure. Jump in with us and see that the adventure is not knowing what’s around the bend.
